  1. We are structured as to when we do subjects. Sometimes we mix them up, though. Also, sometimes we do school on the weekends. We do a lot of school reading on the weekends, but the girls don't consider this school. School to them is math and LA. We use a grid-type schedule for our school, but we don't use it day-by-day. We just pick stuff that seem to go together best and do a chunk in the morning then do some more in the evening.

Penmanship: HWT whenever we can handle it

    Phonics: ETC, Ordinary Parent's Guide

Vocabulary: Possibly Wordly Wise, but seriously considering just using vocab for now from reading, as we are focusing on other areas this year

Spelling: Possibly SpellWell, but I really want to try AAS if we can find some money somewhere.:001_huh:

    Science: Sonlight Science 1

    History: WinterPromise AS1

Art: Come Look with Me series, plus co-op art with Artistic Pursuits, and a smattering of stuff found at Practical Pages and Jimmie's Collage

    Other activities: Awana, Girl Scouts

  3. Next year I plan on using WWE for our soon 1st and 2nd graders. I have 2 questions.

First, can I start the 2nd grader off in the workbook level 2 even though she hasn't completed level 1 or start off with level 1? Does it matter?

Second, should I just start them both off on workbook level 1 and continue on through their schooling with them doing the same level? Would any problems with this arise, assuming we even stayed with this curriculum? It would be nice to have them together.

    Thanks!

  4. SL sells a homeschool family PE book that is really good. We do the blanket thing a lot. Have you considered buying a tent? It doesn't even have to be anything fancy, just a tent. Then you do school in it. :)

I really like this idea. I was just thinking we need to buy a tent, even if we don't drive anywhere to camp, it would be fun to camp out in the backyard! :001_smile:

  5. I loved legos as a kid! I wasn't really a tomboy, but I absolutely loved making houses and barns and such with legos. The girls have a fascination with them also, and this idea would be great for a co-op setting. Sorry, no experience, but just saying good idea! :D
