  1. I used Horizons K bk1 one with my ds last yr for pre k. It moves very quickly and is very advanced. I purchased Mcruffy K math and ds already knew everything in it after the first bk of Horizons K. I ended up going with Abeka 1st grade and we have really enjoyed it. It is a little slower than Horizons and the Home Curriculum guide is awesome. i think it is much better than the Horizons TM. I still have the McRuffy K math if you are interested. I never sent it back. So it is brand new and unused. Pm me if you are interested. It looks like a good program too, it just wasn't the level that we needed.

  2. Robaxacet taken at the max dose for 24h

Ice gel (the blue gel you use for athletic injuries) on the neck will also help ease it

if that doesn't work, massage or a chiropractic adjustment. I used a chiropractor for years but have recently been a bit hesitant to have my neck adjusted - I prefer massage & time & gentle stretching - usually things will fall back into alignment on their own eventually.

Also, consider new mattress or different pillows if you're waking even a teeny bit sore regularly. Experiment with pillows - down, feather, regular foam, tempurpedic style foam, water filled pillows etc etc. You'll eventually hit on the one which keeps your neck nice and supported.

I've btdt as I have a chronic neck issue resulting from an mva years ago.

Well I went to sleep on the sofa so that is part of the problem.

  3. I must have slept funny last night because I have an awful crick in my neck. It isn't unusual that I have little crick in the morning, but it usually goes away. This one goes from my rt ear down my neck and into the top part of my shoulder and it is hurting really badly. It hurts to move my head it is somewhat ok if I stay still. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

  4. I decided to post on this side too since it seems to move faster.

Okay this is probably a dumb question, but I was wondering do you have to take a highschool Calculus course before taking an AP calculus course or do you just dive right in to the AP course? I have the same question for all AP subjects.

    Thanks!

  5. Shouldn't they have made a connection for us between the daughter's suicide and the quiverfull movement? I don't see how they are related? She may have an opinion that they are related but it is not shared so how can we accept what she says? Dumb.

Yeah that is what I kept thinking? How did being quiverfull cause her daughter to be suicidal and why did that mean she needed to get divorced?

  6. Umm.....you want to know what's worse than that? I was around *ahem* 20 years old (already been married for a year and living on my own with my husband) and I look out our window and two dogs are mating in our front yard. I called my mom, who lived around the corner, and informed her that these two dogs were STUCK TOGETHER after finishing mating and I didn't know what to do! They looked miserable! I thought that some absolutely horrible mistake had occured with these two poor dogs!

Needless to say, my mom had to have a little talk with *me* at 20 years old. :blushing: I had never EVER seen two dogs mating in my life.

I had to have been around 13 when I saw dogs doing it as well and I thought the same thing LOL.

  7. Well there is Living Learning Books Level 2. I guess you could just skip the experiments if you want and just check out all the books at the library. There are a few spine books that they have, you don't have to use them though. They have lots of lists of books to check out. There are activity sheets as well. Anyway if you are just up for some reading and trips to the library, I would recommend it.

  8. If you didn't like Singapore then I'd try something else. At this point it isn't the end of the world if you switch programs. While I'm sure it is better to stick with one program for the most part, I was homeschooled 3rd-12th and we pretty much changed programs every yr and I'm really good at math so it isn't the end of the world either. I think it is more important to find a program that really clicks with you.
