Well, we just got home from Toys R Us. I thought we (dd16 and myself) would get there a little late to give everybody time to get in and we would get the 3 things we saw that were pretty good deals for the little guys. Wow were we shocked----we came in the back way and there were cars parked EVERYWHERE---someone was pulling out of El Chico so we thought wow they're already done and got the place--then some people who were getting into the car next to ours said "You haven't seen the line have you?" They said the store filled up in the first few min and now the line was way way down the street and they are only letting people in as others leave according to the fire marshall. Someone said it could take 3 hours to get in.
We came home.
We will try Target at 4 though:001_smile:

Second Magnatiles, we bought the large clear set last year for Christmas--they stay in a basket in the living room and literally get played with every day-------best thing we ever bought.
-
No doubt at all that my son gets them after drinking straight juice too much--apple or cranberry is usually what we have.

Well awhile ago I asked if you would ever move to NZ and now we are going to see if we can. Dh will preach 3 weeks and we will see if they call us and we accept.
Over 30 hours of travel ahead with dd16,ds5,dd3,dd8 mo----------trying hard to enjoy the ride ;)

The other moms in the school supply aisle at Wal-Mart that had a school list with them were not enjoying themselves near as much as I was-I was in heaven!!:D

Nothing. I like it alot.:D

Oh Ladies I have needed this--both the encouragement to keep going and the "permission" to not feel guilty:) This is not easy-I will keep trying for awhile, but promise to let it go if it is just TOO much.
Thank you!!!

I feel so indicisive lately:glare:
Baby #4 is 7 1/2 mo and up until the last two weeks nursing had gone so well-much better than the others. But now it looks like my supply is going fast. I have had to supplement the past few days with formula. My cycle along with alot of personal stress(over another big decision) have really taken their toll-she is probably on a growth spurt too. I have never been a "milk tank" ;) I have been on Mother's Milk Tea and Fenugreek for awhile. I could let it go and decide not to be sad about not going to a year or work at it. By work I mean probably rent a double pump from the local hospital and continue with the herbs etc. With letting it go, I could also begin my allergy med. and start to try to lose weight:D I would love to hear what YOU would do----basically how important is b-feeding to you after 7 months?:bigear:

We have gone to Surfside for the past two Septembers.
I am not sure about a fireworks display, but I am sure Galveston would have one-if you want to brave the crowd.
We like it cause there is almost nothing to do but BE.
The jetty is too dangerous for me with littles-but alot of people fish there.
We stayed on the part of the beach that is for pedestrians only.
Crabing is fun-get crab nets. My son was able to really surf with a pro right in front of us. Take boogie boards Kites work well:) Take flashlights for the beach at night.
We have been to the Sea Center in Lake Jackson which was nice for the kids.
Buy your groceries in Lake Jackson.
The Seashell museum at the Brazosport Art and Science Center is very interesting-- even for the little guys (large dino skeleton)not very big though
This site has lots of info.

Ok, I am so new to this, that I didn't know there was a no mayo type and considered sugar in it a necessity-although a friend says she uses honey-I need to try that.

Another here to basically post the same thing... My three are each 19 months apart. My feeling is that teaching content subjects together and skill subjects separately gives everyone what they need while still keeping mom sane!
I like this approach of some subjects together and others apart, also the fact that some have mentioned that siblings are just going to have to face that they have different strengths. I needed relax-they are still so young :) I have taught my almost 16yo since she was 2 almost every day=now with four that is just not possible---and not necessary. I will look into the curriculum suggestions here-thanks so much!

She will be 4 in Aug and he will turn 6 in Nov. -they are 21 months apart. They are doing preschool work together now. I know it would be different if she were older. He is bright, but too active to learn alot at one time. I don't know if he will be ready to start R&S grade 1 or Horizons Math K. Do I bridge the gap and do whatever we do for both? I guess I know my own answer, she will probably be offended at doing "easier" stuff, but right now he finishes coloring pages etc faster and she can get a little upset. Any curriculum suggestions that help with this?

Just found this to rent and loving it-I like knowing so many of the actors from other stuff: P&P, North and South, and Cranford. Just had to share.

I bought a big roll of tickets at Wal-Mart and give each child a ticket for completing a task and another ticket if it was done with a good attitude. I am always picking up little inexpensive things (pencils, lollypops from the bank, etc) and on Friday I have a "store" on my bed. I always have something big that they have to save money for several weeks. It's a good introduction to money when I price some things. We LOVE this!!

I tend toward guilt on alot of things-so I understand, but I don't think this one is something I would worry over. I have feed hummers for years on regular sugar and they look happy and healthy.

Anyone know about this?

We had this-it was awful. We watched a youtube video on how to get rid of it completely and it worked.

We had a squirrel in our attic-we saw him go through bad brick in our chimney and of course heard him. We patched the chimney-opened the attic door in the garage and the garage door. Then, we put flour all over the ladder to the attic and the garage floor and left it all day. Texas heat drove it out and we had the footprints to prove it---never again any problems :)

Oldest dd15 has been losing it (both ends -TMI?) for about 6 hours now.
Our entire family has gone through this several times in the past few years and I so don't want this while nursing my dd4mo,
I am spraying lysol everytime she leaves the bathroom. Keeping my hands washed when I touch her.
Last time my dh got it first and I didn't even go near him and we still all got it.
I am going to the store soon----stuff for chicken soup, ginger ale-crackers-what else????????????:bigear:

Please tell us the info to get this done. I have recurring thrush (I believe) no matter what I do and need to know if I have a yeast problem.
Thanks so much!

We use saltines and after they cook when drop on chocoate chips and spread them after they melt. Cool and break.
