  1. I posted in another thread about this small publishing company called

    Me + Mi.

They have children's books with Spanish and English in the same book. So, you could read the book in spanish and then english or just spanish. Whatever way you choose.

These books are GREAT! I just picked up my order of the complete set of board books, plus 3 other storybooks. The artwork is beautiful and colorful. I just really love these:)

  2. AprilMay,

I have been in contact with the company. They are great! Did you see the 9 minute clip on youtube? I had a link to it in another thread I started.

They will also have a workbook for the set. It is due to be finished in 2 weeks!! I can't wait to get my set!

Thank you for the Dora links. My kids can not stand Dora or Diego!! But, thanks anyway :)

Check out the Me + Mi books. I went today to the main office and picked up my whole set! They are AWESOME! They have great reviews on Amazon!

  3. Alright....I am really loving this rep. Within minutes I am getting a response back. There IS a workbook in the works!!!!! YAY! It should be done in approx. 2 weeks. They said that they will mail a workbook when it is ready to whoever has purchased their curriculum.

    Yay! So excited :hurray:

  4. Yeah, you don't want the rough kids. We have guys come in who think they can do whatever they want. They think they can come in and dominate someone. Well, those people/kids will be taken down a notch or two. Sometimes it is funny when they will come in all dominant/macho looking and then leave a much different way:tongue_smilie:. They learn to keep themselves in check, otherwise they will have to leave the club.

I definately agree to watch some classes. Go to some different style schools and just see what feels right.

    Good Luck!

  5. Hi Scrapbabe! That is great you own a school! We hope to own our own within the next 5 years. Of course, ours will be Judo and BJJ :) Regarding contracts, I just feel that they are not needed. I don't like cell phone contracts, gym contracts and I especially do not feel that a contract for a martial art is needed. Just personal preference. Our club that we belong to is like a large extended family. People who want to be there, are there and people who don't, are free to leave.

Also, I have seen many people who have come from places with a contract who had a hard time getting out of it when they decided the school was not for them. It's great that you make it easy for your students. My friend signed her son up for TKD and her contract ended up going through some finance company. It is just strange to me:001_huh:.

    So, those are my reasons:D.

  6. Oh yeah, about the cost. Like a pp mentioned, all schools are different. I would NEVER go to a school with a contract. If you have a Judo dojo near you, check them out! All you would have to pay for are the Gi's. Some have you pay for belts as they move up. Do you live around Chicagoland by any chance?

  7. Hi! You might also want to check out Judo. It is a great sport and you don't have to buy any sparring gear. It uses throws, foot sweeps and ground work. No doubt your child will know how to completely defend himself, if needed and it is a great way to learn self control and discipline.

Check out youtube for some Judo videos:)

  8. I have seen many posts about spanish lately. I have also been searching for a good program. So, after searching, this is what I have come up with:

Spanish for Children - These are DVD's that use full immersion. They have had great reviews on Amazon. They are by a company called Whistlefritz.

Susy Dorn - DVD's and Cd's. Again, these are full immersion.

Jose-Luis Orozco - CD's with book of Latin/Spanish folksongs, rhymes, etc.

    I already have:

Learn Spanish - DVD from Language Tree.

    Living Language Spanish

    Lyric Language

I am also going to get another program called Learn Spanish for Kids. It is 60 lessons on 10 DVD's. It is a new program.

I am also getting a full set of board books by a company called Me + Mi. These books look amazing!

We will also use online programs and the spanish version of favorite movies.

So, I think that is it;)

If anyone has used these, please let me know!!
