  1. My ds19 is a mechanic. Some of his co-workers attended college, but ds attended our local vocational school for his junior and senior years of high school. He took automotive repair classes. His core classes weren't anything special. Now he study's the different areas of repair on his own, and as he gains on job experience he is able to get his certifications.

  2. We have plenty of those days.

Stopping what were doing and taking a time out usually works for us. I send my ds to his room or somewhere that he can be alone. No TV, no games, nothing just him with alone with time to unwind. I tell him to come back when he's ready to work. When he's decided he's ready the rest of the day usually goes good.

  3. I enjoy square foot gardening. The dirt is loose, and the sections are small. It just seems more manageable to me.

My squares are 6 inches deep, with wooden bottoms. Everything seems to grow fine.

For my tomatoes I prefer the cages over the recommended trellis. And I only used one kind of compost.

Yesterday I saw that the first spring plants are starting to pop up in my area. I am ready for the growing to begin!:D

  4. I'm doing a lot of flip flopping as well.

My math plan started with Singapore, but then I went to MM. MM didn't work and now we're back to using Singapore. Next fall we're switching to CLE math. I'm also planning to give LoF a try.

Writing has been a mad mix as well. Back and forth between WWE & Writing Strands. Neither are working and now I have my eye on IEW. I just bought the Unit 1 & 2 source text e-book to experiment with.

We've strayed away from our Science & History curriculum too (boring), and we are just been winging it.

I have experience homeschooling my older dc during their middle school years, but this is my first year homeschooling this ds. It just takes a bit of trial and error to find what will works sometimes.

  5. Before I had my wisdom teeth taken out I was terrified of having it done. Turned out that I was worrying over nothing. That same evening after having them pulled I went and watched my sons baseball game, and did exactly what I would have done any other day (although I wasn't aloud to drive). It was the same way for my son when he had his out too.

Everybody's experience is different. Ours was good. Hopefully hers will be too.
