I am. this. close. to finishing dc's binders, schedules for our first day...tomorrow!! I ripped up workbooks, planned out the year, then weeks, then days...except for Lively Latin for my dd 8. I will be up late anyway cleaning up the classroom, etc., so I can do it, I know. BUT, if someone has already done the legwork and would like to share...I wouldn't complain!! :tongue_smilie:

The next Well-Trained Mind meeting of LOST fanatics will be at your house. We promise not to oogle or drool in public. We will be discreet.:lol:
Wahh! I wish we could! We moved to Virginia last year. (I know...Sigh...) BUT...my parents and brother still live there, so...

A friend mentioned this -- it is an online service, kind of like United Streaming that they use in schools? Have you used it? If so, do you think it is worth the $$?
Thanks!

Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement & advice! I appreciate it!

I see we have some Lost fans here. Can I tell you we had regular sightings of Kate, Sawyer, Jack and others...well, at least the people who played them...in our local Starbucks and around Kailua, where we used to live and where many of them live while filming in Hawaii? My duaghter played soccer against "Jack's" daughter. I acted totally cool - - no star-gazing when they are on the opposing team! And we spoke with "Kate" at the post office just after her house burnt down. (And yes, Kate is just as beautiful with no make-up on and Sawyer is a hottie!)
So I take it you are all making up for Lost time () by watching them on dvd? I have been following along since the beginning on regular tv. It is always fun to see some street in Hawaii being used as Australia or Germany or something.

Yes! Just take it slow and review and chant as often as she needs you too. Did you get the workbooks? I hear they are helpful for those needing more. Be confident and you will succeed!
Thanks! I needed that little pep talk!

Alright, wonderful ladies, I have to go before I get caught!
I am so glad you updated (risking a scolding and all!). I am so happy for you -- your birth story is wonderful and it seems as if little Caedmon is engulfed in a whole lot of love over there.
Congratulations to the whole family!

I know some of you have suggested Latin Prep for my dd11, and I actually bought it for her. But, after looking through it, I am concerned if it is a good program for her to start with :001_huh: ...I guess my question is this:
Can a student who has never had any Latin jump in and start with Latin Prep 1?
Thanks!

I don't know if I *love* it yet, but I looked at a LOT of grammar programs for my dd11 this year. I finally decided on Analytical Grammar. I didn't like shelling out the big bucks, but after looking at so many of them, this seemed to have what I needed. It really seems to cover everything -- and the way it is set up, it seems to be manageable and not overwhelming.
Sorry I was not more helpful!

I found this website -- it may help. It says:
Use italics or underlining for titles of larger works (books, magazines) and quotation marks for titles of shorter works (poems, articles)
MLA Formatting and Style Guide: Works Cited Page: Basic Format - The OWL at Purdue

How cool! You and the kids look great!

My boys are huge Star Wars fans. They got all 6 movies for Christmas and can now tell you anything you want to know about SW.
How about Leia? :001_smile:
(Or I guess, Padme, if they are into the newer movies. :) )

Oh, could I use one of those! I know we moms have eyes in the back of our heads already, but think of the power of surprise with one of these!

CONGRATULATIONS!!
I am so very happy for you! He is just beautiful! Welcome to the world, little one!

If anyone is YEARNING to knock someone up (and you have rep and have not already been so generous :) ) ... I mean, I can help you out ...
I am now about ten away from greenie #2...soooooooo close I can taste the candy!
:D

Let's get one thong straight -- these are not PEAS! No no no no no!
They are Andies Candies. Someone recently gave me a box, and they were all tidy in their little green wrappers and looked just like rows of rep points.
I stand corrected!! :tongue_smilie:
They DO look like Andies Candies!!

I like giving out rep if it's a particularly good post, but I also look for people with only one green square so I can help them get more.
And I luv ya for it!!!

I will remain in good spirits and focus on the blessings of life! I will not be discouraged, and believe things will fall into place. I will not focus on nor contemplate what I do not know. This is not in my control.
I will make it a good day!
Back to your regulary schedule WTM board.
:grouphug: I hope things look up soon.
And, well said...something we should all practice! My mom always said "we make our own happiness." And we can, but sometimes it takes focus.

I feel like I just "met" you, Aubrey, but I swear I have been checking every hour for an update!
Hope you are holding your sweet baby right now!
:grouphug:

No, you have to have 50 posts to give positive or negative rep. If you try before that, it'll still let you go through the process, but there will be a blue square instead, which is neutral. Whether you write or not doesn't matter.
I've given to you to recently to rep you again yet. :)
Ahhh..I understand now! :)
And thanks, Brindee!! :grouphug:

In my mind, I thought giving and sharing and enjoying, appreciating and encouraging each other is what the system is about???! To me that's what these threads are doing!
:iagree:
I think it is through these threads that I have gotten to "know" a lot of you more!
-
OhThat is exactly how it works. But the joy is shortlived, because then you start jonesing for the next greenie.
Oh, so true!
-
Thanks, guys!
87...and counting!
:D
Anyone have a schedule for Lively Latin they want to share?

Thanks!
