Do you have the main, hardbound WWE book? I'd be more likely to start her there and test up till you find the spot where she needs to work. I wouldn't think she'd need a whole level of the WWE2 workbook, but that's just me.
No but I will get it! I think I will try 3 this summer and then move her up. I keep feeling anxious about not starting all of this sooner with her and feel like I need to go to the beginning and RUN her through it all to make up!!

 that is so totally wrong!!!

I don't know. My diagnosis- He's a 3-almost 4 yr old?
I am thinking that too but DH is a bit unsettled by the " sensory" stuff for lack of a better word.

who has never done WWE? I have 1 & 2 and didn't know if she should maybe do some 2 over the summer?

I was in a program 5-8th grade and tested above with my IQ test.....152 seems to stick in my mind. Does that help me parent? I wish:D
I seem to have a knack for trivia and remembering ridiculous details at times but don't ask me what I had for dinner last night1
-
here's another great reason....
a friend of mine said her daughter(8th grade) came home from school and said that a girl on her bus was kicked off for giving sexual favors to boys on the rides home...

DS had straight As the first 9 weeks and then came home with A,B,B,C,D no explanation. That was the straw that broke the camels back for us. My oldest DD is struggling in reading and they have ignored my frequent requests to have her get help. I'm just tired of the crap and since I am more than educated to fix anything I see wrong....might as well. I find that I have a renewed sense of purpose and hope to share my love of learning with my kids as we venture into Latin and other areas I have not seen in years!

I just have to laugh b/c how many times we have taken Epi pens on planes and they never once look in bags to see what they are. If that ain't a weapon then I don't know what is!

I was a PS teacher......what's your guess? The only interaction I had with HS kids was a 4th grade boy who spelled "once upon a time" "unsaponatime" and a 1st grade boy who came to me "reading" but his mother didn't realize he had no phonics and had memorized the little paper books she made.:glare:

It won't let me fix the title. Were not where.
hit edit and the "go advanced"

I haven't used either but choke on the price of TOG since history is, for me, an extra. I plan on using HO and pull out the crafty stuff that supports the CC study of the Middle Ages. We will have our hands full with the memory work from CC I think!

thank you for all of the insights. I should have added that we do currently attend an Episcopal church. DH was raised Catholic so I doubt he would go for anything too far from that course-KWIM? I hope that as I HS the girls next year and do Bible work with them that I rediscover my own faith. Attending CC classes once per week will also serve to introduce a more Christian approach for them. With any luck the faith and love you ladies exude will spring flow through the computer and into me! I envy so many of you!!:)

After sitting through a CC intro I find myself wondering just what the heck I believe. I believe in God and Jesus but also don't have issue with Darwin. I question many so called "miracles" in the Bible and don't see it as a book of fact but an interpretation of what happened during those times...kind of like a history book with one view. I don't care for all of the pomp and circumstance in church services. I was raised Episcopal for a reference point but really am not sure what I am now and if I will fit in with the CC community. I so want my kids to have stronger faith and feel more secure in what they believe. Does ANY of this make sense?
-
I was raised Episcopal and although we recognize Mary we don't worship her to any degree. I wonder if that would be different if women were a bit more "powerful" back in the day and not unseen citizens?
-
Where do you get some good ones that don't cost a fortune?

i would be happy to just go to the bathroom by myself!:D

Just my 2 cents but when I taught public I was so annoyed that the kids they pulled for "gifted" ed were the overachieving, teacher pleasers, and not the really gifted. Many times they are kids with below average grades who buck the system and get in trouble! PSs ignore these kids. Smart is one thing. Gifted is another. I always looked for the rule breaker who could somehow manage decent test grades even though he really didn't try hard. The pain in the neck that asks a bizillion questions about stuff. One on one many kids can be taught tons of stuff that is above grade level so that is really no indication for me.

I just wanted to throw this out there that we used to use the big, colorful weather maps on the back of USA today for reading maps and other skills. I laminated them and they really dig it!
-
What ages are you looking to use this for?
5th and 1st
Lamp and Quill is free??!! I looked at that and really is cute! May be just enough for us each week-thanks!

I have been looking at the choices and it seems Prima Latina is the one I like the best for young kids. Many of them say 3rd grade on.
-
I am doing Middle Ages which is what they will do next year as well. From what I understand yes they do indeed remember lots of the memory work from year to year. Other than that I have yet to look at the curriculum guide to see where I could even begin to sync.

My girls are very crafty and I wanted to get something that takes us from beginning on that incorporates crafts and such. I looked at homeschooling in the woods but there are just crafts and no lessons. Any ideas? thanks in advance

Yup-all 6 times and it got worse each time. Oddly enough it only does it when I lay on my left side. They did tests and called it a "wacky electrical circuit" that gets stressed when I am pregnant. It rarely happens when I am not pregnant.

About a year ago I disappeared and then created an alias! After the year had passed I reopened my acct and made sure to be selective.
