  1. I don’t know your fitness level but bump it up and include medium/high impact activities. Like jumping in place. Lift weights but start with a trainer.

My mom has kept her osteopenia pretty much stable for 20 years. She has used all the drugs, taken all the supplements, adjusted her diet and exercise. She’s very active. She liked Reclasse (spell check that) best.

Also do fitness aimed at fall prevention. This generally is core strength and balance. My MIL 85+ swears by her weekly Tai Chi class for seniors.

A last thing to look at: maybe adding estrogen temporarily to get your bone density significantly back up. You are young enough that it might be ok.

  2. I’ve got Romanesco Cauliflower seedlings under lights. Just a bit longer and I’ll begin to harden them off. I’ve also got Amish Paste tomato seedlings and Black Paste tomatoes going on.

I’m considering a black raspberry for my garden plot. I did not really like red raspberries but these I do. I don’t know how finicky they are. Any raspberry advice would be appreciated.

I don’t know what to start next.

  3. We have the Coravin wine saver. DH got it for my birthday because I only drink wine once a week (max) but I can really taste the different difference in the wine after it’s been open even one day.

It’s listed on amazon for about $200/$300 depending on the model. It works great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01JD7AT4W/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1516102001&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=coravin&dpPl=1&dpID=31pwWZUgH8L&ref=plSrch

  4. Hello, I hope you all can help me out. I took high school french back in the 80’s. I was able to think in French by year 2. But it has been a very long time since I used it.

I’m travelling to France this summer and I’d like to brush up on conversational French. What do you recommend?

    Thank you,

    Sandra

  5. Ktgrok has it nailed. If you don’t have a recent one, a psych-ed evaluation could be a good idea. Problems with real life social cues can drive the online presence bc it is simpler. A psych moderated social group could be good

  6. A couple years ago I went through December feeling impending doom. It had been a rough year and I still had pain from injuries. I just thought the holiday stress was pushing me. Nope. Bladder infection. Seriously. It is an easy thing to check. If I had not had my routine gyn appointment after Christmas I might have ended up with a kidney infection.

  7. Hello,  I'm hoping that you all can help me out.  The help desk at the Common App is garbage.

From reading other posts, it seems that I need to submit information about our homeschool, about dd's courses, and I don't know what else.

How do I do this?  They have sent me no link and appear to have no place to create a log in for me as counselor.

    ??!!

    Thanks,

    Sandra

  8. So we just received out supporting documentation for the request for accommodations. The problem being that today is the deadline.

Anyone know of a way to submit the request electronically?

Alternatively, will colleges accept more SAT scores from applicants after their application deadline? We can easily make the deadline for February testing but the targeted local uni has a mid January deadline.

Sigh. I want to kick myself for not hounding the evaluator to get this done sooner. It was just one too many balls in the air.
