We do math all year long but during school breaks we take a break from our regular math curriculum and do real life or real world math. We do alot of nature hikes in the summer & the kids compile a nature notebook, learning about local plants, animal, insects, trees & leaves and dont realize we are doing "school work" because they are having fun! We go rock climbing and talk about geology. Make summer a fun time of learning! :)

What are some history and language arts ideas for kindergarten? :confused:We are doing OPG for phonics but should I do more? What are some good phonetic readers? :confused:We have our math, science, and a whole list of others we will be doing (sequencing, following directions, phonics hot dots, and on and on) Thanks for your advice!

You can go to www.coolmath.com and get extra problems free. Also I would consider the key to series to fill in the gaps (fractions) and whatever other gaps there may be.:)

That is developmentally a common problem until around age 8 however can go longer than that. To combat this use a fine grain of sandpaper and help the child write with their first finger the letter/ number correctly. That engrains correct formation into multiple areas of their brain at once. Hope this helps.:)

If you go to world book encyclopedia's website they have typical course study scope and sequences from preschool through 12th grade. Here is the link http://www.worldbook.com/wb/Students?curriculum:)

I am a total curriculum junkie... I cant stop. The rainbow resource catalog is my fix, along with my huge and growing stacks of others! My poor husband gets to read all my finds!
