  1. I'm 55...no children, and had no bleeding prior to biopsy but did have an vaginal ultrasound and the dr did see something so scheduled a biopsy for safe measure. I just had an endometrial biopsy done yesterday. I took two ibuprofen as per my gynecologist instructions. I also took a Xanax an hour before. I will NEVER have this procedure done without some type of anesthesia. It was so uncomfortable and painful I almost passed out. I moaned on the table and felt like I was going to have a bowel movement the pain was so bad. It was not like severe period cramps. Multiply that by x10. Maybe my experience was unusual I don't know....or my pain tolerance is low. Perhaps it's because I never had children. I don't know. I'm usually a trooper but this....this was a whole other experience!! If I need a second biopsy done I WILL request anesthesia!!!
