We repurpose a lot of their art into cards, placemats, etc. Another plan that I haven't had time to follow through on is to hang a decorative wire in their hall, and hang their masterpieces with metal clips.
I like the idea of taking pics to treasure them too.

I have CL's 5 Ingredients, 15 Minute cookbook...I love it! It does have some prepackaged items, but I substitute with homemade a lot.

I make an indian dish similar to pp..chick peas, brown rice, golden raisins, onions, red peppers, garlic, chicken or veggie broth and curry. We like to eat it with toasted pita chips!

These are all so cute, girls! My sewing machine has been calling to me for a while and I just haven't gotten it out...may have to this weekend! Thanks for the inspiration :)

MY Dh is active dute Army National Guard and he does not iron his camo ACUs anymore, like pp said the new fabrics are no-iron. Granted they don't look very crisp, but he never irons them and has had to go through a lot of inspections and such and it's never been a problem. I just dry them in the dryer and take them right out. HTH!

If I was experimenting, I would probably cut the peanut butter in half and substitute Nutella for the other half, keep honey the same? Pleeeeaaase let us know how it turns out!

No curriculum here, but I love to make my own cleaners, laundry soap etc. That would be something fun, frugal and useful to include...here's one of the sites I like http://www.frugalfun.com/cleansers.html Also, baking bread, making jam, etc. I love to do these things now, but was never taught, so had to do all the research and learn as an adult, wish I had the opportunity to learn at a young age.

I'm always doing things last minute! No matter how hard I try to be prepared, it never happens. I have been known to put early arrivals to work though, especially if it's a good friend or family member.

I'm training for my first 5K now too! I'm using the couch to 5K program. I live close to Birmingham, Steph, what area of Alabama are you in? I'm 39 and so not a runner, so I stay sore...it rained so much last week, I took the week off, so I'm sure I will regret it this week. Good luck to you!

Hydrogen peroxide mixed with dawn dish liquid, mix together.
Also, LA's Awesome is a fantastic stain remover...they sell it at Dollar General.

A juicer...not too weird, but it collects dust in the cabinet...it just takes so much fruit to get a decent glass of juice!

I love this website and am currently using the tot trays concept with my 2.5 year old. Some of the things would be too elemetary for a 4 year old, but she gives some good ideas...I incorporate a lot of the games and tot tools she mentions to accomodate my 4 year old too. It is very montessori minded.

I'm in your area, in fact I think I recognize your screen name from another board, maybe ACM or BM? I live in Springville, we moved there 4 years ago from Helena.
Maybe we'll meet IRL sometime!

I have a question about appliquiing...do you sew with a satin stitch on a regular machine, or do you need a fancy attachment? I've never appliqued but would love to try it. TIA!
