  1. RSM was a bit too intense for our kids, it was great in a sense that the kids could practice specific weaknesses they had (from the assessment that they took) but in the end they didn't seem to strive from it. Kumon was a bit too repetitive for them, I've also done Kumon when I was a kid years back so I could also be biased. IXL is also useful but we also found it repetitive. So far we've really enjoyed Beestar, but then again, each kid is different so it really depends on their learning style!
  2. I think homeschooling is a great option! I think that over the years we have learned to figure out what works for the kids and what doesn't. We've tried out a few like RSM, Kumon, IXL etc., and another one that really worked is Beestar. It has a great comprehensive curriculum for both math and reading. There's also a great GT program (gifted and talented) which is also very useful!
  3. Audio books are a great way to learn and read with the kids. Another great thing is even with shows you can change the setting to English to help train their ears. Kids pick up a second language quickly with the right environment but don't put too much pressure! They will eventually pick it up in time. Also work with learning the phonic sounds to help her build up some reading skills.
