What do you need it to fit? My small ones can only fit a phone, small wallet, power bank, hotspot.  My slightly larger ones can fit a continental wallet.

Also are you looking for casual or semi formal, zipped or magnetic closure or open

As for wallets, for 20 credit card size items, I have to use my continental wallet because I like to see my cards. My husband just squeeze his in a stack in his bifold wallet and it ends up looking bulky.

I always carry a wallet with all the cards for all the things, phone, first aid kit, pens, pocket knife, small multitool, keys to all the buildings I have to access on a regular basis chapstick, hand lotion.

I generally prefer zip closure and a casual look.

This is likely unpopular, but I leave my tote bag in my car, filled with "just in case" items,  and just carry with me (in pockets) what I need (into the store, etc).
I started this when the kids were babies---having all kinds of backup items in the van, just in case . . . but just bringing a key and a credit card in my pocket.

I keep my console full of 'extras' like a just in case lighter, full first aid kit, ziploc baggies, pad of paper etc.  My purse has the little first aid kits, pens and a sharpie, wallet, hand lotion etc.

  3. I currently have a huge checkbook size wallet.  I'd like something smaller, but it needs to hold 20 plus credit cards-- rather plastic cards that are credit sized.  It seems like every thing these days are made that size and need to be in my wallet.  I like a medium sized purse that is a shoulder bag.  My current purses are too big, but I can't get something tiny  I am not ever sure where to start looking !  I haven't purchased a new wallet or purse in a decade.

  4. You just decide to get along.  I have friends and family with widely varying ideas on everything from politics, to medical care, Covid, abortion and recreational drug use.  I have learned how to respect them for who they are (and likewise they for me).  Life without close friends or family stinks.  I am watching two acquaintances go through cancer treatment right now who alienated their family years ago and they are so alone.  It is heartbreaking to watch them try to manage treatment without help. In both cases, their kids are also distant because of the judgey attitude over the years.

Most Technical Communications/ Writing classes just reference a particular source for those kinds of things.

Here are a couple of free textbooks:

    https://openoregon.pressbooks.pub/technicalwriting/

    https://pressbooks.bccampus.ca/technicalwriting/

Students at that level should be able to locate the information they need in a resource, such as a book. If you don't like either of those books, do an internet search for "technical writing OER"

OER stands for Open Educational Resource. It's a huge movement in colleges/ universities right now.

Thank you!  This is super helpful!

What are your goals for the course? Tech Comm is one of the courses I teach occasionally.

If you find a college syllabus you like, just cover a week’s worth of material over two weeks.

The syllabus that I have seen looks good-- but I don't want to have to create the material.  The assignments are things like 'create a memo', 'create a short report'  etc.  I don't want to have to come up with the report ideas for the class.  I am creating two classes this year, and it is so time consuming.  I won't have the time to do it next year.

  7. I have two kids in college, one is about to graduate. They are sailing through their classes both lower level and upper level. They said everything we have done as homeschoolers or at our homeschool co-op with significantly more rigorous than what they have encountered in college. When I look at some of the papers they have turned in for classes, I would have given them a c and made them rewrite, but they got high A's and their professors comment that they are some of the best students they've had in years. Their roommates, while very sweet struggle profusely with even the most basic of courses and they had straight A's or A's and B's in high school. They literally cannot pass remedial math even though they've taken it three times. It is truly alarming to me and I'm so glad I home schooled.

  8. This year I need to do very low preparation Christmas decor. I have a huge event in January that will take up all of my time over the holidays. I am planning on getting out an artificial Christmas tree and purchasing some fresh cut wreaths. For the Christmas tree, what could I purchase that would be easy to decorate with that would not require me to get out tubs of ornaments.  Some sort of giant ribbon? Bows? Decorating is not my thing.
