  1. We just found out about this last week - hand sanitizer.

I do not have any pb or Naptha in the house-I am off to look for our hand sanitizer outside....ds10 does not like to come in the house to use restroom so he goes on a tree..then needs hand sanitizer. I know--tmi!:glare:

Thanks to all for the ideas!

  2. Wow! What a cool response! It's wonderful to get that kind of affirmation that what you are doing is somehow sinking in, isn't it?

    Thank you for saying that!:grouphug:

This is huge for me--It is great to hear--occasionally--that I must be doing something right!

  3. So I tried the scenario on my dc.

Ds: The one w/ the books has the better treasure. He's probably got a book on how to make *more* pizza.

Dd: The one w/ the pizza. Ya gotta eat.

    :lol:Love it!

I will be asking my ds21 when he comes home from work. He will probably just say pizza--with no explanation.

  4. approached my ds10 and I at the library today...I was carrying a pizza box and ds was carrying a pile of books. This friendly gentleman stranger asked ds, "who has the biggest treasure--the person holding the pizza or the person holding the books?" Ds replied, "of course it is the person carrying the books--pizza just goes in one end and out the other-- books can grab a hold of your soul and you carry them with your forever."

I was floored by his response. I love that kid! :D When I was his age- I never would have talked to the stranger--and/or -- be able to have that quick of a response.

Just wanted to share--have a fabulous day!

  5. :smilielol5::smilielol5::smilielol5: Did he still hire your dad for the work?

I was grocery shopping with my kids. I was shocked to see my husband in the store! I told the kids, "Look, it's dad!" and ran up to him. I was holding out my hands, just about to pinch his rear end :blushing: when oldest ds said, "MOM! It's NOT HIM!!!" The guy turned around and looked at me. I walked away.

I think I need to stay out of this thread. I'm giving away far too many secrets.

:lol:HYSTERICAL!!! I will be snorting about this all night long!

  6. I was in labor with my youngest ds--our 11yo ds wanted to help in some way....we told him to call my aunt to inform her that we would not be at her house the next day for Thanksgiving....this was at 11:30pm....I was in bathroom--I heard from the other side of the door ds calling aunt--in a very excited voice...."Hi Aunt D. --we will not be able to make it tomorrow for Thanksgiving--Momma's water just broke and she is in labor and Dad is taking a shower and I am going to be a big brother!!--what?? huh?? oh---sorry--wrong number!! ":lol:

We giggled about that alllllllll the way to the hospital. :auto::lol:

  7. Well, I am a serial ellipse abuser.

I just don't feel happy about the finality of a period. There's always more to say, more to think, more to consider....... It seems gentler to just trail off......

    :lol::iagree::lol:

Welcome to my world! I am afraid I am guilty of the same thing...;)

  8. I seem to be finally over the various bugs that have been plaguing me ever since we moved down here over a month ago. This means my house will be clean enough in time for the inlaws visit on Saturday after all!! :w00t: (Don't feel bad, Daisy, there is a big difference between clean and clean enough :glare::lol:)

    :)

    Rosie

Glad you are feeling better, Rosie! :grouphug:

  9. It has been a long hard summer and today I've had some good news!

    1. My daughter's lab work all came back negative! She had struggled with something for nearly 3 weeks. At this point, they think it was viral. She is feeling much better now though. (Now we are just really praying hubby doesn't get it).

    2. My husband's surgical site was infected but when I took him back to the surgeon today, the doctor said it was only superficial and everything is still okay! They also went ahead with the 6 week xrays and his neck is healing well enough that he was able to ditch his neck brace. (He is so happy). He is still on activity restrictions but the hardest part is done.

Hooray! Now if I can just get a week or so to get my house clean, I'll be ready for school to start. :w00t:

    Yay!! :grouphug:
