Highland Heritage Music Forms.
The musical words worksheets and musical sentences were a fun way to help her learn the notes.

Thank you so much for posting this. My Sunday school class is making ornaments and these will fit in very nicely. :)

besides Christmas copywork, reading and baking is a Christmas Around the World project from Galloping the Globe. We'll be making different ornaments for our schoolroom Christmas tree each week.

Tomorrow is a reading/library day.

It is wonderful when reading finally takes off like that!

Hello everyone! I have a prayer request to throw your way. :) This past Wednesday my husband was laid off from work without warning. I am still a little numb from this, I think. :)
I would appreciate your prayers while he is job hunting again. He actually has had a job interview so, of couse, it would be wonderful if he gets that job.No matter what happens I know that God will take care of us! Thank you all!!

I appreciated your perspective too, Natalieclare! :) I think every parent would definitely have to discern the correct way to use scripture for their children.
Also, the board is sometimes a little slower on Saturday, especially the social groups. You didn't shut down anything. So here is another :grouphug:

I agree with Beansprouts. If you present this to him in a loving manner by saying something like, "I really want to help you. I think this verse will be a blessing to you", etc. then it should not be construed as punishment. I believe it is important for children (and all of us too) to hide scripture in their hearts.
Btw, your son sounds like my son. He gets so frustrated with himself when he does not do things perfectly and , yes, I do use scripture sometimes to help him better understand how he needs to control his anger.

I have used the Orange and Purple and am currently using Tan (6th) and Red (2nd). It is somewhat more 'relaxed' than other curricula that we've used but it IS thorough. I am going to add in more writing in January-that is one area I feel the Tan book is a bit short on. I like the Beechick method of Language Arts (dictation) and I love how that is implemented in LLATL.
For what it is worth, my children like LLATL too.
HTH!

Having been through it, I truly grieve for you.
I am praying for you.:grouphug:

I've been meaning to look up the current "sky action". My son loves to keep up with what is going on in the night sky and your post is very appreciated!
