(Continuing here because my text was too long for one post.)
There is something strange that happened at the end of the week. Of course I took my scales with me, and on Friday I was down 17 1/2 pounds (I ended P2 down 17 pounds). When I weighed on Saturday morning, I was down 19 pounds. We drove home that day, and on Sunday morning, I was down 3 more pounds to down 22. This morning I again was down 22. I had felt a little queasy on Friday and Saturday and didn't eat a whole lot those days, but I ate as much as I wanted. Isn't that strange? I stalled for quite a while 2 different times during P2 and I'm wondering if my body finally released some of the weight from that? I really don't know what happened, but I am good with it. :001_smile:

Just checking in! Dh and I spent last week on an 8-day vacation by ourselves, something we haven't done since our honeymoon. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary.
P3 is going well. Today is day 12 of it. I've really been eating whatever I want, just avoiding starches and sugar. I did have a little of dh's key lime pie at a restaurant last week, and it tasted pretty darned good even though I don't particularly care for key lime pie. ;) I had a glass of wine on 3 or 4 of our vacation days and that didn't seem to affect my weight at all.
I'm finding myself thinking about some carbs I'll enjoy eating in 9 more days (but who's counting!) when I get to P4. I'll have to say that my view of food has really changed since I started hcg. I look at a lot of things I used to eat regularly and just think "gross." It has been very nice to have lots of fresh veggies and fruits available this summer. I've eaten more of those the past few weeks that I have in a long time.

I can't think of any situation where this behavior would be appropriate.

Today is Day 1 of P3 for me. (Last 3 days have been the 3 500-calorie maintenance days after finishing hcg.) I've got a week-long vacation coming up in these three weeks, but I'm hopeful I can stick to protocol while we're gone.

I think company for two weeks would have sent me over the edge. ;) You are doing a great job of hanging in there! 14 pounds is a *lot* of weight.

I currently have a third child in braces, and I highly recommend a Water Pik. My two teenaged boys have teeth that look great after their braces because the Water Pik helped keep their mouths clean.

Yesterday was VLCD 26 for me, and this morning I was down a total of 17 pounds. Today is the first day of the 3-day weaning period.
Weight loss per week was as follows:
Week 1 - 7 pounds
Week 2 - 5 pounds
Week 3 - 3 pounds
Partial week 4 (5 days) - 2 pounds
-
VLCD 24 and I'm down 16 1/2 pounds. Counting today I have 5 more days to go, and I would really like to hit the 20 pound mark.

Yay, Susan! You are doing great!

Beautiful name.
Congratulations!!

Susan, we *are* right together. I'm starting week 4 today (VLCD 22) and as of this morning I've lost 15 pounds. The past two days I've lost 1 pound each again.
Here's my little secret: I never weighed any of my meat until 3 days ago when I discovered that I had been eating about twice as much protein as I should have been. Until that time I had been eyeballing it. No wonder I stalled for those days when that was coupled with TOM. I am always ravenous at that time. So I've cut my protein back to where it should be and that has helped with getting things going well again.

Berta, wow, what a great start! I haven't yet checked out stevia either but I need to.
You are doing very well, Susan! 14 pounds is a lot of weight. You and I are staying close together.
Nice going, hedgehog! 7 inches is a lot. I wish I had measured before I started.
20 pounds! Way to go, Blakereese! That is two 10-pound bags of potatoes. When you think of it like that, doesn't it seem like an enormous amount of weight??
I finally seem to be losing again after gaining a pound and then stalling for 4 days during TOM. Today is VLCD 21 for me and I am down 14 pounds. I'm planning to do 7 more days, then my 3 days of stabilizing, and then go to P3 for the week I'm on vacation. When we get back I am going to begin exercising, which I haven't done yet at all since embarking on this adventure. Don't know if I'll get back on hcg for a couple of weeks or not. We'll see how the next few days go.

I am happy to live in America, happy to be an American, proud of those that serve and protect, and wish everyone a happy, patriotic day.
:iagree:
Happy 4th!!

Oh, wow, Susan! That's a pretty eventful 16th birthday - one that he (and you) will never forget.
Let us know how the testing turns out.

Congratulations!

Thanks for the encouragement, blakereese. Wow, 19 pounds. You are doing great!

You are doing great, Susan! Sounds like you have a good plan for the restaurant.

Bethany,
I am praying that the stone passes quickly with minimal pain.

OK, I seem to be stalling. TOM arrived a couple of days ago, and yesterday I was *up* a pound. This morning I weighed the same. I've been slacking off in water consumption, so I'm going to drink a lot today.
Hope everyone else is making progress.

Susan, I think it may have helped me get over a little stall in addition to helping with the hunger, but that may have been my imagination. :D Let me know what happens with you.
Today my fat free, calorie free, everything free, chocolate syrup from Walden Farms came in. It tastes . . . like you think it would, but I ate 3 tsp. of it anyway. ;) I may dip some strawberries in it later.

Heather, you are very motivating to me. Keep it up! You are doing great.
Glad to know that life is good in P3. ;)
I've not done any exercise since starting VLCD. I feel like I can concentrate on only one aspect at a time of getting healthy. I've got a lot of jiggles that need to be toned up, and I really need some cardio. But all in due time.

You ladies are all doing so well! Dianne, so glad you jumped back in.
Today begins VLCD 14 and this morning I'm down 13 pounds. It seems surreal to me when I get on the scale that only 14 days ago I weighed that much more. On Saturday I upped my dosage to 5 pellets, 3 times per day, and I finally experienced what some of you have talked about with not being constantly hungry. We've been on the go a lot since I started this diet and it has really helped me to be out of the house and out of the kitchen.

Hedgehogs and Susan - Wow!! Great job to both of you!! Welcome to P3. It is a happy place. :001_smile:
Purpledaizy - Welcome! You will find lots of support with this group. I truly think that without the ladies here I wouldn't have made it through P2. I had a rough first week (days 2 - 5 especially), but I realize now that I did it wrong. I did the 2 days of loading but didn't start my pellets until the first day I went to 500 calories. I think that is why I struggled so much that first week. Best wishes to you as you begin this adventure!
