  1. Hi, I'm looking for resources to pull together a curriculum for writing essays. I'd like something that could guide us through the steps of essay writing and I'm finding it difficult to find an appropriate curriculum. thanks much Francis
  2. Anyone have some good recommendations for an economics book for middle school? I'd love something that cool/graphic/interesting/conceptual, like a Beast Academy or MCT for economics, but any suggestions would be much appreciated. It's for my 6 year old, who mainly works at something like a middle school level (at least conceptually). We do a lot of current events, and I keep finding that I end up trying to explain pretty difficult economic concepts on the fly. thanks much
  3. Anyone know if there are any books about psychology for elementary or middle school. I'm looking for something that would cover key topics and maybe a history of the field. There is a lot on philosophy that is near psychology, but I can't seem to find much on psychology. I also made the mistake of buying a high school textbook which ended up being about 500 pages of almost zero content.
  4. Hi I'm a homeschooling my PG (I guess AL on this board) 6 year old son. We just started 1st grade about a month ago. We're doing Beast slowly and SM 3A and SOTW (and the class at Athena on it), finishing MCT Island, and a lot of history work. So I think we have a lot in common with a lot of the people on this board except I'm a dad who is doing the homeschooling. I don't really have a question, but was wondering if there were any other homeschooling dads out there. There are apparently so few that when you search "homeschooling dads" the main pages that come up at for how dads and can support moms who are primarily homeschooling. Maybe there's nothing gendered about homeschooling, so maybe it doesn't matter, but I thought I'd check if there were any other homeschooling dads out there. But I have no clue what I want from that. Of course, maybe I'm wrong and there are tons of dads who homeschool out there or maybe it really doesn't matter (I actually found this to be true when I primarily identified as a stay at home dad).
