I’m day 5 post second Pfizer and have Covid arm this morning—-red, warm, and mildly itchy around injection site. I put some Benadryl cream on it. Otherwise feel fine. I only noticed it after my shower and saw the red area on my arm.

Ds(18) is graduating in June, and dd(16) will do full time dual enrollment in the fall, so my homeschool days are coming to an end in June. I’ve also just returned to work full-time, working from home.

Dh and I had our 2nd Pfizer yesterday afternoon. We both have mildly sore arms today (less than with first shot though). We’re both tired and achy, just kind of feel blah. Not horrible. I could work if I had too, but glad it’s Saturday, and I can take a nap. I had a headache with the first shot, but not so far with the second. (I’m late 40’s and dh is mid-fifties).

Ds(18) is feeling back to normal today, about 36 hours after his vaccine.

I tried Coke with coffee yesterday. I had no idea this existed. I am not a coffee or pop fan at all. I didn't love it or hate it and you could taste both of them for sure. I don't know who thought of this. I guess I don't ever mix any of my drinks and wouldn't even think to.
I did not know this existed and am looking forward to trying it. I’m a big fan of both Coke and coffee.

Ds(18) had J&J vaccine about 14 hours ago. Slightly sore arm last night, and he woke up with a headache, achy overall, low fever (~100) this morning. Took some Tylenol and went back to bed.

I felt the same after my first shot.....I also have fibromyalgia, hashimoto’s, and possibly some additional yet to be diagnosed autoimmune things going on. I’d told dh I wasn’t sure I’d notice any side effects....I have fatigue, feel cruddy, and have muscle and joint pain most days.....hoping the second dose isn’t much worse.

I was able to get ds(18) scheduled next week for J&J. He’s doesn’t have any high risk factors and is nervous about the vaccine in general, so I’m satisfied that he’s willing to get J&J even with the lower efficacy. Dd really wants to get the vaccine but doesn’t turn 16 for another month, and she’ll be limited to Pfizer.

Today, Dh just has a mildly sore arm. I have a sore arm but also a headache and feel just kind of rundown. Not terrible, I could work if I had to, but since it’s Saturday, I’m just taking it easy.

Dh and I got our first Pfizer vaccines this afternoon. I also had my face feel hot for a bit, but I get that with flu vaccines as well....actually pretty much any medical procedure causes it for me, but I do have anxiety. Six hours later, we both have slightly sore arms but not worse than a typical flu shot. We’ll see how we’re feeling tomorrow.

A friend here got Moderna at Kaiser today. Dh and I got appts for next Friday at our local pharmacy. I believe we’re getting Pfizer, since they automatically scheduled our second shots for 3 weeks later. I’m super nervous but just because I have health anxiety.

I’m so jealous of everyone getting their vaccines! Dh and I are both high risk for Covid with multiple comorbidities, yet our stupid state is sticking with their tier system. We aren’t even eligible for another week, yet the news is reporting vaccine events with many leftover vaccines (like 400 extra). So frustrated with our governor.

I understand....I have anxiety, and particularly health anxiety, along with a couple autoimmune diseases. I have my first shot scheduled in mid-April, and while I really want it, I’m also very anxious about it and possible side effects/reactions, even though I don’t have any logical reason to be so nervous.

True.....and it’s possible it hadn’t been long enough since the mother got her second vaccine which was why she tested positive ....that part of the story was a little more vague....and it was third/fourth hand info.

I heard a ‘friend of a friend’ story today that was not great vaccine news. A mother (50’s) and daughter (20’s) hadn’t seen each other for a long time. The mother is a nurse and is fully vaccinated (had 2nd shot in early February). Mother visited daughter last Friday. For work, mother still has to be regularly tested. Mother tested positive on Saturday. Mother had no symptoms and is still not sick. However, daughter started showing symptoms on Monday, tested positive on Tuesday and has been quite sick all week. So, it appears to be a case of an asymptomatic vaccinated person spreading Covid to an unvaccinated person, which is a bummer......hoping this is a rare, one-off....though as more and more are vaccinated, it should be less of a problem. But definitely shows it’s too early to be giving up masks, distancing, etc. with so many not vaccinated yet.

We have a male cat we adopted when he was nine months old. He had been found as a stray by a cat rescue. We really tried to keep him indoors. He was miserable and making everyone else miserable as well. He was doing the jump out at people thing, meow/howling, and literally started to climb up the walls in our house, attached himself right to the sheet rock! We started letting him be and indoor/outdoor cat, and he became a completely different cat. No more clawing or biting people, very friendly and talkative when he is inside.....much calmer overall. He’s now 10 years old and spends more time indoors overall, but still needs his outside time daily. I think some cats, especially males, are just not suited to be indoors all the time. We had a female cat years ago when we lived in an apartment who was perfectly content to stay indoors and sit in the windowsill. She let us trim her nails with no fuss....she was the calmest and most passive cat I’ve ever had. 🙂

My parents got their first vaccine this morning—Pfizer. No side effects so far. My bil has had both of his vaccines working in healthcare, he had a sore arm after the first, and just felt really tired for about 24 hours after the second dose.

There’s nothing wrong with doing what you need to do for your family’s health—mental and physical.
We’re doing little indoors right now because we can. But, the mental health part is starting to wear on my teen, so we’re weighing risk/benefit of including some activities for her.-

Dh and I both work from home. Ds’s college is online at least through Spring quarter. Dd is homeschooled. Church online. We’ve done necessary medical/dental appointments. I do curbside pick up for groceries and takeout for food/coffee. I’ve gone to Costco three times in the last year during non-crowded times. Dc have visited with friends outdoors masked and distanced. Once we’re vaccinated, I’ll still mask/distance but will likely return to going to the grocery store, church, and visit with friends more often.
Does anyone throw up when they get stressed? Zofran?

If it doesn’t make you too tired, maybe either a Bonine (meclizine) or a half of a Unisom? Both can help with nausea, but can make you sleepy. Another option could be a low dose prescription of a beta blocker like atenolol.
