purplelily
Does anyone know of a clean version of Shakespeare's Othello, that is not over 3 hours long?
Lori D.
No personal experience with these, but the Hays Codes were still in effect in the 1950s, so odds are these are pretty "clean" -- however, there is the "ick" factor (to me) of white actors in blackface portraying Othello: Othello (1951 film) - Orson Welles (91 min) Othello (1965 film) -- Lawrence Olivier & Maggie Smith (165 min) From season 4 of the BBC Shakespeare series done as video for TV in the early 1980s (so, clean), there is the episode of Othello starring Anthony Hopkins (again, white actor). And, it is 203 minutes (so over 3 hours).
