Guest Space_Elf
I am possibly a bit out of place because I'm not a parent or a student. I'm an adult who dropped out of community college very disillusioned by the whole education system. My goal is to give myself the classical education I never got, so any advice on how to get started would be great. My main focus lately is my handwriting and, of course, reading. El...
Welcome! Have you seen SWB's book on reading, The Educated Mind, a Guide to the Classical Education You Never Had? I'm using it as a reading guide, and while I'll probably STILL be reading through its lists when I'm 94, it has led me in some good directions.
Rosie_0801
Do come and post on the High School and Self Ed board. :) The above suggestion of the 'Well Educated Mind' is a good one for reading. For other subjects, see the rhetoric level section in the 'Well Trained Mind.' You might come and join in the 'book a week' threads on the general ed board. People there read everything from classics to vampire fic. :D
