Jennifer132
I was just wondering if anyone has a child who uses an assistive communication device? My dd with mild cp, dysarthria and apraxia is getting hers tomorrow. It's called The Accent. It basically has a lot of pictures divided up by part of speech and it can speak aloud for you. I'm just curious what other people's experience has been?
PuddleJumper1
My son uses a DynaVox device. He currently has the V+. We started with a DV4 7 years ago. When his SLP suggested we get one everyone else thought he'd never be able to use it. Thankfully they were wrong. It has become his voice. We can not imagine his life without it. It's taken a lot of work on his part and ours but it has all been more than worth it.
ravinlunachick
My son uses an app called ProLoQuo2Go on an iPod (started on an iPad till his fine motor was better). I am not exaggerating a bit when I say it has been life changing. He can't speak at all, and there's so much that he knew and we had no idea until he began using p2G.
