ktgrok Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 Math: Basic College Math, Lial's (with khan academy or MM to help if need be) Grammar: FLL3 (we started late), moving into ALL next year Writing: last few weeks of WWE2, moving into WWE3 or 4, depending on placement test, with goal of WWS for 7th Spelling: Spell Well's lists of most commonly misspelled words Vocab: English from the Roots Up flashcards, plus vocab lists I pull from our literature Literature: WTM list for Medieval, plus some additional historical fiction Social Studies: SOTW II, documentaries and library books on the Middle Ages, plus weekly current events Science: Computer Science 101, plus weekly general science readings/documentaries, plus Milestones in Science Experiment Kit Typing: Typing Instructor for Kids Language: Spanish with the virtual school, or First Form Latin from Memoria Press Logic: Art of Argument, spread over the full year rather than a semester, as it is rather advanced for 6th grade Religion: either Christian Studies I from Memoria Press or CLE Bible 6...waiting to see which we like better Art: Meet the Masters Cycle A, maybe working into cycle B at the end of the year. Music: we will do an informal composer of the month, listening to CDs during schoolwork, lunch, etc, with some history of the composer worked in.
