atozmom
So this was posted in the other thread -- "Saxon Geometry is recommended for students who used another curriculum besides Saxon for Algebra 1 and 2, or for current Saxon students who do not plan on attending college. In this case, Saxon Algebra 1, 2, and Geometry would suffice for high school mathematics, although Dr. Shormann encourages all students to do more than just the minimum requirements. College-bound students should finish Advanced Math, and preferably Calculus, as many studies show a direct correlation between college success and the level of mathematics completed in high school." Now my other question. :) What if you have a child that will not be going into a math related field? Dd wants to go into music and ministry. Our original plan was to do Saxon Alg 1, 2, and then Geometry. For our fourth credit, we really wanted to spend a year doing something like BJU's Consumer Math. I feel like she could really benefit from a program like that. Thoughts?? Ok, gotta run....will check back in later. Thanks!!
Storm Bay
I think that's a great idea. Most dc aren't ready for Calculus at 17 anyway. As long as that works for the college/university of our choice, that is.
