How is this for 3 years of highschool history?

Recommended Posts

My daughter was public schooled since 8th grade. This year for 9th we did Abeka's geography and reading alot of lit.

How does this look for her remaining 3 years?

10th MOH 1 and 2

11th MOH 3 and Truthquest Age of Rev. 1

12th TQ Age of Rev. 2 and 3

She is motivated and a very fast reader.

How does this look?

Well my plans change minute by minute and this is why I don't order history till August!

I really want my older dd to use Sonlight, so most likely will use Cores 7, 100 and 300.

Just don't think I can swing TQ without a schedule, I know i'll lose my mind.

I was going to do TQ with my dd (and already have it sitting on my shelf!), but I was feeling the same way as you. I think we're going to try to swing MFW AHL next year. That's more like what we need to stay on track! Have you looked at that?

Yes, I have seen it, and it looks good, but too much Bible!

Not that there is anything wrong with that, we are Christians, it's just that my dd's would freak if I had them study the Bible that intensely

That makes sense. It's tough to find the right curriculum with so many available!

I hope you find one that ends up being a good fit! :001_smile:

You mean buy the teacher's manual also? can you be more specific?

Do you mean using MFW without the Bible portion?

Yeah, that's what I meant. I thought I saw somewhere where someone did that---they bought the manual and the history and lit. portions, but not the Bible portion. I don't know how integrated the Bible stuff is with the other portions. If it's basically stand-alone, then it seems that it could work.
