Katiebug_1976
Hi, I am trying to decide which edition of Saxon math 7/6 to get for my daughter. Does anyone know what the difference is between the 3rd edition and the current 4th edition? Thanks so much,
Guest helped
Got this reply from the Saxon Help Desk, The content of these two editions is very similar (both are excellent), however there is more ancillary material available for the 4th edition. (i.e. Homeschool packet, Solutions Manual, Tests & Answer keys, Saxon Teacher CDs). Best wishes, Dr. B Phillips Saxon Math Help Desk
Jim
Art Reed recommends both. He mentions that the fourth edition is softcover. I'll assume from that the third edition is hardback. Reading into his comments they combined some of the exercises in 3 into investigations in 4 and reduced the number of tests. He doesn't come out an say which is better but I read it as edition 4 is at least as strong, if not stronger. I recently bought several years worth of saxon (okay, being the junkie I am and having a second son nearing school age I have it from start to finish), I bought e4 from RR.
