A home for their hearts
I was talking to a friend about my ds8 struggle with learning to read. He hates the I Am Sam books, he says the are babyish and he protests each time I pull them out. She said she use Merrill Readers with her son and he is doing well. They don't have any pictures just text. I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has had any experience with them.
SonshineLearner
I like the Veritas Press Readers:-) The pictures don't let you guess the words...at least that's my opinion so far. I'll look forward to hearing the replies about the Merrill Readers, though. Carrie:-)
Beach Mom
I haven't used those but I have used another Merrill product - their Skilltext readers https://www.sraonline.com/products.html?tid=1&sid=142 to reinforce / practice reading skills. They are inexpensive, I never used the teachers manual, and they worked well. They are reading workbooks with some comprehension questions and are available for many levels.
