Heather in Savannah
My ds has begun reading "War and Peace" on line, but I would prefer to find a hard copy for him. Does anyone have a recommended translation? Feel free to e-mail me off line at kashbenj@hotmail.com Thanks, Heather:o

Does anyone have a recommended translation?Feel free to e-mail me off line at kashbenj@hotmail.com Thanks, Heather:o Heather, I've enjoyed translations by Constance Garner. I hope I remembered that correctly. She's a well-known translator of Russian literature.
kathleen
Oh! By all means check out the new translation by Pevear and Volokhonsky (sp?). A husband and wife team, they have translated many of the great Russian novels in the past 20 years or so. Their new translation of W & P just came out last November, I believe. I love their translation of Crime & Punishment!
Heather in Savannah
for your suggestions. Because it is such a gigantic book, and my ds is only 12, I want to make sure he has the most interesting version. Heather
