Kathy in MD
My 8th grader ds wants to study Chinese next year. Does anyone know of an on-line or correspondence course with a speaking component? Needless to say I don't know any Chinese and I don't think my ds would do well in the Berlitz total immersion method. added: I just found the classes offered by the Michigan Virtual School. Has anyone had any experience with them? I'm still interested in other options. Edited December 7, 2008 by Kathy in MD
KuniMom
This website offers free language lessons similar to Rosetta Stone. It looks like Mandarin Chinese is included.

Catherine
that is a weekly class mostly directed at chinese-american children. My ds (tenth grade) is taking class with them and is making some progress. HTH.
