lizziewho
Hi! My daughter (11) has been using CLE math since the first grade. She is currrently finishing up level 600. We are thinking of changing and trying AOPS online class. Has anyone ever done this? How do you like the transition? Thank you Liz~
TracyP
I have had 2 kids move from CLE to AoPS, but we use the book without the class. It was not an easy transition, so I'm glad we were able to go at our own pace. I think my kids would struggle with the pace of the online class now even though the transition period is over. Depending on the kid, it might be fine. Do you think your child is ready to wok *hard* at math? That isn't something that CLE will have prepared them for. If you think AoPS is going to be a good fit for your student, I'd start the book now. It would allow her to get used to the format and get a head start on the class. Hopefully that would smooth the transition a bit.
