PhotoGal Posted June 13, 2017 Share Posted June 13, 2017 Has anyone gone through this? My kids took the assessments for Mandarin Chinese. They want to place them both in level one (complete beginner). For our oldest, the class is supposed to be a college level class, so I understand. For our 11 year old, they want her in elementary basic 1. She is currently in 5th grade in an immersion school. She wrote a paragraph in characters on the placement test. Why would they want her in the very beginner class for kids with "little or no knowledge of Chinese"? They really want to teach her how to say hello and introduce herself? That would be ridiculous!
