lulalu
We started k a month ago. I don't have a all put together program I am using just what I have pieced together. I just have a lot else on my plate. And need something more done for me. We are taking a light approach to school this first year as we have a lot of family learning experiences simply being overseas and we all are working on learning language. I can't tell from the oak meadow samples if each week feels light or if it is just the first week. Looking at 1st looked too much as we are not working on reading yet just phonemic awareness and skills. So just wondering for those that have used oak meadow k what the year is like and if each week is as light as the first.
Guest
OM K is best used as a PreK program but it sounds like it might be what you are looking for. It ramps up but you might need to add in more activities. Since you are overseas, that should be a snap to do. It is very easy to add to. The phonics in OM 1 is just a suggestion. The TM even states (or did) that your child may or may not be ready to read those books by year's end. We enjoyed our OM years very much. lulalu
Thanks- I have seen over and over online how many use it for prek. And just worried if all that was given is too light. But we really have a full life with our week so I am not focusing on reading yet or really deep math yet. Since we are learning a language and culture it really is exhausting on all our brains. And we do a lot of oral story telling ect that we expect from ds. It is just such a big expense since I already have some resources I bought, but I can save what I have bought for later too.
