garyandmolly
Does Pen time cursive have enough instruction and simple practice for a 2nd grader who hates to write and struggles with handwriting? Or would you use something else for beginning cursive? If so who would have a similar font?
Tiramisu
Is your heart set on that font? It seems like a tough one for kids with writing struggles. Edited July 21, 2016 by Tiramisu
garyandmolly
That is good to know. Would there be better options that still have a fancier font?
Tiramisu
Having had kids who struggle with writing, I don't think I'd go for a fancier font in second or third grade. It took me many years to agree to try Handwriting Without Tears Cursive and I'm sorry I waited. My youngest's biggest problem is forming letters automatically. It took a really long time to get there and she's not there with cursive. She's very bright and has no fine motor problems, but she needs a lot of time and repetition to get that muscle memory. She also has the signs of spatial dysgraphia.
