texasmama Posted April 30, 2016 Share Posted April 30, 2016 I've lived in tornado alley my whole life and very rarely have sheltered in the bathroom. Tornado paths are not too wide so it really has to be right on you. I was pregnant and had my four year old with me 16 years ago while guest speaking at a college class in a multiple story building when a tornado hit the DFW area hard. We all went to the first floor in a hallway. That was my closest brush with a tornado. We have a plan. We've just not used it in more than ten years.
