Ktede
Prefer computer based rather than workbook. 4th grade--he had one year of Spanish in public school but forgot most of it. Is Rosetta Stone worth the $$?
Ohdanigirl
Do you speak/read/write Spanish? That will likely help others in giving you recommendations. I will repeat what I always say. Switch TV/movies/music to Spanish. It's the closest thing you can get to immersion and younget children tend to pick it up quickly. After some word study, find easy books in written and audio format. Listen to the book while following along. Do copy work from the book and dictation with the audio version. Find someone they can practice conversation with once they begin to understand what they hear. Beginning in middle school you can start a more grammar focused approach, but I used the above to teach five kids English and Spanish to my oldest, who would flat out refuse to speak it until about 11-12. Granted, we lived in Mexico at the time, but he did not attend school with Spanish speakers and lived with people who spoke English. I have not heard anything positive about Rosetta Stone. If the above seems to daunting, many people seem to like Destinos. HTH

Ohdanigirl
Have you checked your local library? I find lots of them there.
