Hi,

 

I'm hoping to hear from some folks that have used this course via the distance learning with Mrs. Dunn.

 

How did you like the course....did it seem age appropriate, was it rigorous enough?

 

How did you/your student like the teacher, Mrs. Dunn?

 

I have viewed the samples for this course and I'm uncertain about the teacher's presentation style.

She seemed to "talk down" to the students and seemed to be speaking to kindergarteners rather than 4th graders.

I know the samples can only offer a glimpse, so I'm trying to get a good feel for the teacher's presentation by hearing from those who have used it.

Well...we started it this year. Dd didn't like watching the videos. I have to agree with you about the teacher's style - it seemed inappropriate for 4th graders. Sigh. I don't even want to think about the money I wasted (dd also disliked the BJU math 4 videos). I will say that I don't think videos are going to work any time soon for my dd, so it's not just BJU. Oh, except she does enjoy Khan Academy math videos.

 

On the math side, at least we found out that dd likes Saxon! Go figure!

Presentation aside, would you say the content was good?  Was there enough depth for a 4th grade science course or did it seem geared for a younger audience?
