Hands on based high school physics?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking ahead to next year for my non-sciency dd. We used Apologia for biology and are using Apologia for chemistry this year. Dd likes Dr. Wile's conversational style and has done/is doing fairly well. She has to work hard at the math, but gets it. We aim for a solid college prep track, but acknowledge that she won't be attempting any AP level science or math. I know we need to use a solid textbook for physics, but is there something that is more hands on? I'm not trying to avoid concepts or math at all, I am just curious if there is another way to learn and do them. In my dreamworld I envision something like building roller coasters, bridges, machines, whatever to demonstrate and apply principles so they become relevant to dd rather than just another difficult subject she needs to work through then check off.

Just wondering ...
