Suzanne115
Hi - I am looking through our First Form Latin. Would someone who has used it before, please tell me how you scheduled it? Thank you, Suzanne
Tenaj
We don't try to do a lesson a week but what we do is watch the DVD lesson on the first day. Then we just work through the exercises - usually one page a day, depending on length, then do the test and then move on. I think it averages about six days per lesson. We do the chants and I review parts of the lesson as we hit them during exercises.
Suzanne115
Thank you. I am trying to enter lessons into a planner. I may just need to schedule Latin as we go until I get a feel for it. Suzanne
sleeplessnights
There are 34 lessons, so we try to do one lesson a week. This gives us a little extra time in the school year if a lesson needs an extra day or two. However, in order to finish a lesson in a week, you really need at least half an hour a day of Latin work, every day. We typically introduce the lesson on Monday and take the lesson quiz on Fridays. Memoria Press schedules the course in their grade level curriculum guides, but I think they'll sell you schedules for individual subjects if you give them a call. Amy Jo
There's a suggested schedule in the front of the teacher's guide.... So on page xv where it says "teach lesson eight" you just do the DVD instead? I'm thinking about getting the lesson schedule from MP (I think it's only $3), but I was wondering if those plans use the DVD, or what parts the DVD covers. I'm just getting overwhelmed trying to find the time to teach every subject, and the DVD looks tempting.

We schedule more time for Latin on Mondays (~45 min) and then ~30 minutes per day for the rest of the week.
