EdithRene
I am considering taking the Online Orton-Gillingham Introductory Course. I was not able to find out what kind of internet connection is required. I have the Verizon MiFi and am not able to stream. Would this be a problem? Was the course helpful to those of you using the Barton Reading and Spelling Program? Thanks!
Melaz4
I would love to know the answer to this too. I didn't realize there was an online course.

merry gardens
Is this the one you mean? : Orton Gillingham Introductory Course If so, I took it a couple years ago with some of the other members from this board. We discussed it at the time on some old threads here that you might be able to dig up. I use Barton (now on level 7) and was using it already at the time when I took the course. I've also used LiPS. Much of it was information in that course I'd already learned, but I learned some new things and it put some things I already knew into better perspective. I found the material about the neurology and brain very interesting. It was a really good introduction to dyslexia, so if you're new to learning about dyslexia or just looking to make sure you have a good general understanding of it, then it's a good course to take. I don't remember the specifics about the internet connections, but I don't remember that it required any streaming. As far as the technology needed, mostly I remember reading information and answering questions with a typical computer, keyboard & internet. If your computer can use this forum, you'll probably be fine. But the program might have changed from what I remember, so if you have any doubt you could ask them
