Mango
I wasn't going to. The TV hasn't been on. I know they read the newspaper. I am prepared to answer their questions. But the local school where their cousins attend is starting out today with a shindig about this, counseling, increased security, etc. I don't want them to learn all about it from their little cousins. They need to hear of it from me first. I've read articles online. But seriously having reservations about telling my 7 year old. He's going to obsess about this and we'll be talking for months, repeating daily many times what I say to day to him. So I need to be ultra careful. I'm so very sad that talking about school shootings with my young children has become as important as the talk about Santa and sex. For those who are already in conversations with your kids, please help.
Mango
The local schools are elementary schools and they're going to "talk" with the same-age kids as the victims.
