Tawlas
Just thought I'd share these for those looking for some primary math lab/problem solving ideas. I was sort of struggling on how to get this kind of math to come together and she lays out about 9 or 10 weeks of math labs and notebooking in her kindergarten class. I found it really helpful! http://www.kindergartenkindergarten.com/math-problemsolving.html Haven't seen it on here before, of course could be wrong, but it seems like it's worth bringing up again if that's the case! zarabellesmom
I love the ideas... but I just want to ask... is it me, or do the "kindergarteners" in her blog have the most sophisticated handwriting and written communication skills ever, or what? Just asking... Teresa
Tawlas
Yeah, I thought that too! Some of those posts are from later in the year I think and I believe she's pulling some of her favorites from all-time kind of a thing. However, I do NOT expect my ds to be writing like that by the end of K lol!
redgal
Thanks so much for sharing the link - that will be a handy resource for us as we go into K :D and yeah... that's some handwriting!
ItoLina
I love the ideas... but I just want to ask... is it me, or do the "kindergarteners" in her blog have the most sophisticated handwriting and written communication skills ever, or what? Ok, thank goodness its not just me thinking this. I love the idea, but I was starting to get a little freaked out. I would be completely shocked if my son's notebook pages looked like this by the end of this school year.
jenbrdsly
Yes, I use to teach Kindergarten, and that looks more like first grade to me.
