Loving&Learning
I have read that it's recommended to do AAR1 before AAS1, but does anyone know about the other levels? Is it recommended to do AAR2 before AAS2?
SnMomof7
Honestly - once you get into the program - just keep going as your child progresses. I teach reading before spelling, decoding before encoding, and I think many others do too - hence starting AAR before AAS. HTH.
shernandez
I think that it only applies to AAR1 and AAS1. I would agree with the previous poster about working on the level of the child.
nukeswife
I agree with pper that said once you get started you just keep going at your child's pace. We started AAR and only made it part way through before having to stop for the year because of illnesses and death in our family. I will just pick it up there in the fall and once done I'll start AAS 1, but will also start AAR 2 as soon as we finish AAR 1. If my son blazes through AAS 1 before we're done with AAR 2 I won't hold him back from moving on to AAS 2, we'll just keep plugging along.
