LittleRed
Hello, In WWE we are directed to read the passages to the student before narration. My question is, would it be okay to have the student read the passage himself and then come back for the narraration or would that lessen the effectiveness of the program? Thanks so much,
sleeplessnights
I think it would be fine; after all, that is what you do in Level 3. I'm guessing you are directed to read to the student in 1 and 2 because some kids can't read/comprehend on that level yet.
Bloggermom
I let my daughter read her own. It is easier on me. ;)
Walking-Iris
My ds could read those passages on his own, but I find they make great exercises in listening comprehension. I have him read aloud to me in WWE3.

Classically Minded
In the first 2 years (Levels 1 & 2) you read to the child. Then, starting in Level 3, the child reads it independently. I had asked this question before a while back and you can see all the replies here: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=329474

KAM
I don't use WWE but this is how we do dictation. I always let the kids look the passage over first. They look for words they might have trouble spelling and note the punctuation. They take as much time as they want, and then I dictate it to them.
