Dassah
Is this level of IEW inappropriate for a typical but young 6th grader who writes well but has never used IEW? I would be putting my child in a class with 4th/5th graders if I choose ATFF.
HappyGrace
I would say no. My ds did this this yr in 3rd grade and he is not a strong writer at all and it was at his level. No older than 5th grade at the oldest, would be my opinion. Sorry to say that! I guess it could be salvaged if you were familiar with IEW and were upping the ante by having him do more IEW at his level at home. Or if you were doing another writing program at home as his main writing and the ATFF were a supplement. (It's a great program for the right age though and my ds loved it!) Dassah
Thanks, Happy Grace. I'll stick with my initial plan to use IEW Medieval History. Glad to hear it is a good program for younger elementary kids, though. I'll keep that in mind for my others.
