NotAVampireLvr
If any?? I haven't had a chance to hunt down a used encyclopedia for our library. We're considering going the online route in the interim... suggestions? World Book? Britannica?
SunnyDays
We like this website: www.infoplease.com It has a lot of resources: encyclopedia, atlas, dictionary and thesaurus, timelines, etc. The encyclopedia articles come from the Columbia Encyclopedia. It's been easy to use. We'll probably buy something like the CD-Rom version of Brittanica, but haven't done that yet. I'd love the whole set of hardback volumes... sigh... ;)
Ray
This we are new to its use, however. http://kids.britannica.com/
kubiac
Controversial stand: WIKIPEDIA!
ChrissySC
I start at the local library website or Library Spot and move to Infoplease. Library Spot will send you to sites like How Stuff Works, which is awesome for science. It will give you 5 plus books on grammar or 5 plus books on style for writing. I found the US National Library of Medicine on the Library Spot. So, you could say that it is one-stop-shopping for information. I think outside of the traditional encyclopedia and prefer a digital approach to information. Edited April 3, 2012 by ChrissySC
NotAVampireLvr
thanks for the tips. Our city library (surprisingly) doesn't have an encyclopedia linked to it.
