It's subscription based so the download includes one year and then following years are $6.99 I've been able to create a profile for each of my 3 kids and choose their grade and difficulty level (I put my 3rd grader in 2nd grade, difficult just so she could play too!). They progress through different islands and unlock later levels as they go. They create an avatar and earn coins to purchase new clothes, accessories, etc. The items in the store are also unlocked as they progress through the levels.
