My daughter would like to study Japanese in high school for 4 years rather than the minimum of 2. I'm leaning towards the Genki Series: http://genki.japantimes.co.jp/index_en Do we start with Genki I? Does she need to "prep" with anything else first? Will the first text be the equivalent of one year of high school Japanese or more? I'd appreciate any words of wisdom from those that have use Genki (or something else) to learn Japanese.
