Sandragood1
Does anyone know of a high school level bio curriculum or textbook which I can also use (though somewhat simplified) for my 7th grader? I'd love to be able to do lectures, discussion, and labs together. But expect ds to do more and perform at a higher level than dd. I'm hopeful that someone has some suggestions =) Sandra
TheHomeScientist
I'd look at CK-12, which is of professional quality and completely free.
Laurie4b
Does it have to be the same book? Used texts are not too expensive. I would get a basic high school biology book and a basic life science book (middle school equivalent of bio). The chapters should be easy to align. You can do the same experiments for each chapter. Using Lyrical Life Science CDs would be useful for both students, if your older student won't just have a knee jerk reaction. They were designed for middle-schoolers, but we used them in elem. I have had both my older sons say that they got questions correct on community college tests because of what they could recall from LLS. :P LLS is good for memorization. Sandragood1
Thanks for your replies. It looks like ds will be able to take science at Co-op after all, so I don't need to worry about teaching high school level science next year.
