us constitution study

Recommended Posts

We haven't done anything official but we are BIG on understanding the Constitution and our government, even with my ds9 and dd7. I would highly recommend Katherine Krull's book The Kid's Guide to the Bill of Rights to get you started. It might be a tad young for your 8th grader, but it explains things so well that it would be at least a place to springboard from. HTH!

We study it when we get to that point in history, but I just received an e-mail about using this as copywork. I thought it was an intriguing idea & am mulling it over. I know my older dd's 5th grade public school class memorized the preamble & it was quite memorable.

Probably not much help :o)
