Has anyone seen the Discover the World - Alphabet Books series? Any comments? I'm not finding many reviews.

They have names like

"C is for Ciao: An Italy Alphabet"

"S is for Shamrock; An Ireland Alphabet"

"P is for Pinata: A Mexico Alphabet"

"E is for Eiffel Tower: A France Alphabet"

"T is for Taj Mahal: An India Alphabet"

"D is for Dancing Dragon: A China Alphabet"

There a bunch of them - I was wondering if they were worth the price as an addition to some of our readalouds. Thanks!

I read D is for Dancing Dragon to my dd4 and 2 when we were rowing Ping. The book was geared for older kids so I really just skimmed it and used it as a conversation starter on lots of subjects. We really enjoyed it and to this day I make a point to try and find books in this series when we are reading a book with a specific setting.

I found this teacher's guide for it. I never used it but maybe someone else would find it useful.

Also, I found another series that I would say are similar and worth looking through. They are called the "Count Your Way Through" series by Jim Haskins. I was lucky and picked up about 15 of these books from a library book sale awhile back. They too are geared for older kids but can easily be adapted for young kids.

Here is a link to their China one.
