Math-it

If this is the one you're referring to (that link, BTW is to Cathy Duffy's great review), we used an even older version (no DVD -- I believe it had audio cassettes). I believe there are 3 levels: "pre", the regular, and "advanced". We used the original regular, which was tips for memorizing math facts and a lot of little flashcards.

I did get that one for younger DS who struggled to learn math facts, but he was NOT a regular flashcard learner (later on, using triangle flashcards we had a bit more success), and we already knew a lot of the tips. Another idea in the program, of "holding your breath" -- i.e. only need one breath's worth of time to complete one set of math facts" to increase speed -- did NOT work with DS. Math was always a struggle for him and ANY form of timing just made him melt down, so Math It was a bust for us.

For us, it certainly would not have been worth the (now) $72 price new; I think when I got it YEARS ago it was about $45 new (again, would not have been worth that cost to us), but I found it for $15-20 used, and resold for similar price.
